Amelia-Jo Sharp-Saxby

Amelia is currently completing his Pupillage under the supervision of Julia Baggs.

Prior to commencing pupillage, Amelia-Jo completed a range of legal work experience, including acting as a volunteer for SEQUENTUS when they were conducting criminal appeal support for clients. She conducted legal research, drafted client letters and analysed large bundles of evidence for cases concerning offences of rape and manslaughter. Amelia-Jo was also exposed to a range of cases in all areas of practice through mini-pupillages and court marshalling experiences.

Amelia-Jo helped run the bar and mooting society during her third year of her undergraduate degree at the University of York, organising events for students ranging from advocacy competitions to talks with practitioners and charity events, such as a Legal walk for the Access to Justice Foundation. Prior to this, during her second year of university, Amelia-Jo won multiple advocacy competitions. She continued to take part in advocacy competitions during the BTC.

Amelia-Jo enjoys supporting others where possible, such as mentoring other students interested in a career at the bar, as well as away from the profession she acts as a committee member for a local charity, which works hard to support the lives of young people across Hull and East Riding.
