Gail qualified as a Legal Executive in 1999 before qualifying as a solicitor in 2004 and then transferring to the bar in 2011.
Following transfer to the bar, Gail practiced at a specialist family set in Nottingham before returning to Hull and joining Wilberforce Barristers in 2020.
Financial Remedy
Gail is the head of the Financial Remedy team and is the only Financial Remedy practitioner based in Hull recognised in the Legal 500.
Gail regularly accepts instructions on high-net-worth financial remedy matters which include complex issues such as tax, companies, pensions and multiple property portfolios. She can assist at all stages of a financial remedy case from initial conference through to contested final hearing.
Gail also advises and represents clients in enforcement proceedings where necessary arising out of final orders in Financial Remedy and TOLATA.
In addition, Gail is a qualified arbitrator and can hear cases as a private FDR judge, together with assessing cases as an Early Neutral Evaluator.
Gail also accepts instructions to advise and represent parties in TOLATA and Married Women’s Property Act 1925. She is also regularly instructed to prepare pre-nuptial and post nuptial settlements.
Inquests
Gail was recently recognised in the 2026 Legal 500 under the category of Inquests and Inquiries and is the only practitioner based in Hull to have such recognition.
Gail regularly accepts instructions to represent family members at inquest and will accept instructions on a direct access basis. She is regularly instructed by large organisations including local NHS Trusts.
Court of Protection
Gail is regularly instructed by public authorities in Court of Protection matters for both finance and property and health and welfare matter and has acted in complex cases concerning deprivation of liberty.
Gail has a particular interest in Court of Protection and capacity matters where they overlap with financial remedy proceedings.
