Prior to starting Pupillage, James worked as an Intern at the Criminal Cases Review Commission. The role involved analysing applications to refer a conviction and/or sentence to the Court of Appeal and compiling summaries. It also involved conducting research into sentencing historic offences, ID evidence and jury directions, among others.
