Holly Thompson and Michael Masson secure acquittals in joint Robbery and Attempted s.18
From 24th to 27th March 2026, before Recorder Turner at Hull Crown Court, Holly Thompson (D2) and Michael Masson (D1) represented two defendants at trial. Both defendants were charged with Robbery and attempted Grievous bodily harm with Intent.
The Prosecution’s case was that D1and another male allegedly attended at an address, known to be occupied by the complainant, chasing a drugs debt. A tirade of violence was said to have followed thereafter, and D2 was brought in as further muscle. In the midst of the violence, items were taken from the complainant including bank cards and a mobile phone. At the end of the escapade, D1 was alleged to have produced a weapon which both D2 and the other male attempted to use against C but were ultimately unsuccessful in doing so.
After just under 35 minutes of deliberation, the Jury unanimously found both defendants Not Guilty.
