Oliver Shipley successfully defends in food safety prosecution

The defendants were alleged to have sold vegan pizza’s that were contaminated with dairy produce, resulting in a customer being taken ill. Following an application and legal argument, the court dismissed 8 Food Safety Act offences against the corporate body and the director. The court accepted the argument that the prosecuting Local Authority were out of time to bring a prosecution against the defendants.
