Rachel Scott secures acquittal for defendant charged with Domestic Violence

The client was charged with coercive and controlling behaviour, Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and Intentional Strangulation.

The client was accused of controlling and coercive behaviour against his partner which involved locking her in the house, forcing her to do all the housework and assaulting her on at least 15 occasions. It was alleged that he had strangled her to the point of urination on more than one occasion.

Following a 6- day trial before HHJ Rayfield sitting at Hull Crown Court the client was unanimously acquitted of all counts.
