The defendant was charged with exposure and entered a not guilty plea. He had a previous conviction for the same offence, which was committed in almost identical circumstances. Bad character was admitted following submissions. But in a trial lasting 3 days, the defendant tried to suggest that the complainant was completely mistaken and that he was closing his blinds rather than masturbating in his window, he also told the court that he was innocent of his previous conviction and had wanted to change his plea but could not afford legal representation.
